Agile Leaper

March 18th, 2008

Prerequisites: Dexterity 13, Trained in Acrobatics

You can use your Acrobatics modifier instead of your Jump modifier when making Jump checks. You are considered trained in the Jump skill for the purposes of using this feat. If you are entitled to a Jump check reroll, you may reroll your Acrobatics check instead (subject to the same circumstances and limitations).

Okay, first, I have to say that all Star Wars related feats that have a Ability score as prerequisition, have odd numbered scores listed there. Second, this feat sounds more like a talent and in the second sentence it says that it is a talent. Now since this is listed under the feat section I wondered if I’m totally nutts…

It was originally a talent, but I decided to open it up as a Feat, since its something that multiple classes could take advantage of and it was a little underwhelming as a talent.

I like it a lot, being as none of my players EVER want to “waste” their time with the Jump skill

give them reason to not think of the jump skill as wasted. any skill is wasted if I can be reasonably certain that I will never have to make a roll with it.

I agree with HeartofJuyo’s assessment and Lambach’s reasoning on this. I made the mistake of thinking a few skills as a “waste of time”, especially back when playing D&D. Kept running into situations where I had to roll one I didnt have….the rest is history.

The skills are there for a reason. Drop a player into a 3×3x4 pit with the opening closing on them in 2 rounds time! See what he does IF/When he gets out.
