    Episode I: Coming of Age

    In all corners of the galaxy, the Clone Wars rage. The Republic's clone armies are outnumbered by the vast droid forces of Count Dooku and the Separatists. Vague rumors of a new Separatist superweapon abound.

    In an effort to bolster the ranks of the Grand Army, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine has dispatched a member of the Galactic Senate, along with three Jedi, on a mission to the Separatist world of Toprawa.

    Their task: to make contact with the planet's community of ANTARIAN RANGERS and entreat them for aid in the ongoing war...

    Senator Alavar waits with baited breath as the Qatamer's Pride prepares to exit hyperspace. The Pride is an old CR-45 Corvette, manufactured by the Corellian Engineering Corporation. It is small and antiquated when compared to the newer CR-70 model, but it has the advantage of drawing less attention.

    The Pride itself has been refitted to serve in a diplomatic capacity. Its cargo holds have been replaced with a stateroom, kitchen, and quarters for the Senator and her entourage:

    The Pride is captained by Vance Rongoon, who commands a crew of seven other volunteers from Lorrd. The crew compliment also includes an FX-6 medical droid and an R2 unit. In addition, the ship carries ten passengers:

    *Senator Nee Alavar (Lorrdian female from Lorrd)
    *Gavyn Nasscal, university student and political advisor to the Senator (Human male from Alderaan)
    *Lissa Alavar, the Senator's 14-year-old niece, also serves as a personal aide/lady in waiting (Lorrdian female from Lorrd)
    *General Sum-Bou Loraask, Jedi Master (Chagrian male from Coruscant)
    *Commander Asaya Saxan, Jedi Padawan (Human female from Coruscant)
    *Commander Talus, Jedi Padawan (Tynnan male from Coruscant)
    *Sub-Lieutenants RC-141 through RC-144, assigned to the Senator at the Chancellor's personal insistance (Cloned Human males from Kamino)

    You've all been in hyperspace for several days, so you can take some time to get to know one another, and get to know the NPCs as well (except Jaden -- he's waiting for you on Toprawa). I'll bring the Pride out of hyperspace sometime on Sunday or Monday, depending on when you're all ready.

    One thing I neglected to label on the map: Those black semi-circles are the escape pods (4 occupants each). Also, there's a blast door in the middle of the main corridor that can seal off the two halves of the ship from each other -- just in case.

    The Senator chuckles under her breath. She makes a strange scrunched-up face at her niece, who puts her hands on her hips and raises an eyebrow. They both laugh again. RC-142 gets a strange feeling that they're exchanging a Lorrdian joke as his expense.

    Kinetic communication

    "At ease, Lieutenant. I will rest in my quarters until we land. There's no need to 'escort' me around my own ship," she says with another chuckle.

    Great, just great... "Of course Senator, if you need me or my brothers we will be familiarizing our selves with the crew." 142 salutes her again and dismisses himself.

    RC-142 arrives on the bridge, "Captain Rongoon, my brothers and I are the security detail for Senator Alavar. I am Sub-Lieutenant RC-142, I thought I would take the time to introduce myself, and familiarize myself with you and your crew." 142 stands at attention hand saluting the Captain of the Pride.

    Vance returns the salute. "At ease, Lieutenant. It's good to have you here. If nothing else, it helps the Chancellor sleep better, knowing you're here to make sure nothing happens to the Senator."

    The captain answers, "Some of them are former law enforcement personnel. Others had careers with the Lorrdian Defense Forces. We've held our own against pirates before, and besides, our latest intel didn't indicate any Separatist ships in the Toprawa system, so we won't run into any clankers on this mission."

    Intel has been wrong before... "That is good to hear Captain. Who would you say is your best pilot when it comes to evasive maneuvers? I would like to suggest that man be at the controls when we come out of hyperspace, just in case."

    Talus timidly approaches Master Loraask. "Master Loraask, I know it is not my place to question the council but why did they send three Jedi and only a handful of clones to protect the senator on this mission?"

    Captain Rongoon gives the clone an appraising look. "You just worry about protecting the Senator, and I'll worry about flying the ship." With that, he returns to the bridge and dismisses the Lieutenant.

    Sum-Bou Loraask sits cross-legged on the floor of his quarters, facing away from the door, eyes closed, meditating.

    At the sound of Talus' voice, he opens his eyes and stands up. Nearly two meters tall, he towers over the Tynnan. With a smile, he speaks:

    "We want to avoid drawing attention to ourselves," he explains. "A large force would catch the Separatists' attention and alert them to our presence in the system. Worse yet, it would alert them to the Antarian Rangers' underground presence on Toprawa, and the Rangers would surely be hunted down by Count Dooku."

    Civilians... 142 leaves the bridge, and returns to his brothers, "The crew is reluctant to take advice, I have a feeling if something happens it's going to be up to us and the Jedi to make sure the Senator and her associates makes it to safety. I suggest we keep an eye on securing an escape pod before anyone else can manage to in case we're attacked at any time between dropping from hyperspace and landing on Toprawa, Senator Alavar comes before anyone else on this ship." Looking at his helmeted brothers, "What are your first impressions of the crew?"

    "I agree, getting the Senator to an escape pod should be priority one in case of an emergency," RC-143 says.

    "The crew seems competent. They've obviously been together for a long time," RC-141 chimes in. "That should work to their advantage."

    "Perhaps we should ask our superior officers if they have any orders for us," RC-144 suggests.

    General Loraask answers the door. Along with the massive Chagrian general, a small furry creature occupies the room along with him.
