    (To Everyone)
In the last few weeks, after your judgment, you were dispatched to Gamma 1, a prisoner transport ship, where hundreds of slaves were collected from around known space to serve as slave workforce in the infamous Kessel mines. The best that could be said of the trip so far, was that the accommodations are filthy even to a Gamorrean standard, the rations stale, and that the outbreak of Dantari flu, only killed five Humans, a Wookie and a Duro. The worst well…

From the journey you have -2 permanent steps on the condition track. Only after a good rest do the conditions end.

Inside the cockpit of “Gamma 1”, prisoner transport ship:

Gamma 1: Garrison Moon I ask permission to land. Transmitting access code.

Garrison Moon Base: All clear Gamma 1. Proceed to landing bay on sector 5.

Gamma 1: Roger, Garrison Moon. ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) 15 minutes.

Garrison Moon Base: Roger Gamma 1. Saurian squad will escort you here.

A squad of Tie fighters encircles the transport ship, with their characteristic engine noise heard by all in Gamma 1.

You hear that, you pieces of Bantha dung? - Asks one of the guards, next to the stormtroopers – It’s the first step to the mines, and from there…
There you will serve the Empire … to the end of your miserable life… - finishes another, laughing.
With luck the Spice Spiders will get you, and you’ll die quickly. Without you will survive until you’re old… and endure the agony.
Some of the prisoners visibly cringe, and another, a Bothan female, softly starts to cry.
The prisoners huddle together in small groups, some talking, some looking to nothing, trying to believe themselves in another place.

Now you can describe your character, and how he is dealing with this prospect.

"I'm already old, you laser-brained slime-monkies," says an old man from the rear of the hold. "And I'd be willing to wager that Spice Spiders have twice the intelligence that you're able to muster up, you miserable little puke."

He speaks hoarsely, holding back a cough, but with the defiance of a young man. He has to be at least sixty years old, maybe even seventy. His white hair is receding, leaving a widow's peak, but it is unkempt from who-knows-how-long of travel aboard this ship. It is dirty, greasy, and sweat-soaked, but the man somehow manages to wear it nobly. His handlebar moustache, which curves upward on the ends, almost conceals his top lip and his pointed goatee gives him an air of the space-cavaliers from the old action holo-vids.

His eyes blaze with defiance as he insults his captors, well aware that he'll be made an example of but failing to care.

"Yeah, why don't you come do something about it, sonny?" he finishes, obviously some sort of pain-seeking lunatic.

    "It's not my fault."

Some of the nearby prisoners start to slightly adjust their position around you, making a less cramped zone, to be out of the attention of the guards.
The stormtroopers adjust their carbines in an less than casual way, pointing then in your proximity.

A nearby guard says to you "Shut it oldbag!" caressing his stun baton.

Despite the harsh conditions and generally miserably atmosphere, an Echani lady sitting amongst the other slaves can't help but to laugh; one which comes out with a harsh edge, and a few coughs.
Sure, the man maybe crazy, and old, but he's still willing to put up a fight in his own way.

The female herself is nothing special, a prime example of her heritage; Her once dyed brown hair has long since grow back into its natural white, however specks of the darkened colour still remain, as she hasn't had the opportunity to wash it out properly. Her pale skin is likewise dirty. Her eyes, which previously seemed saddened and lost, are now quickly darting around the room, taking in everything.

Perception Check to notice how many guards and storm troopers are in the room: Taking 10 for a total of 14.

Without bothering to weigh up the odds, she figures they're less than good, and walks over to the ageing man, and puts a hand on his shoulder.

"Gramps it's okay, shush now." she says, trying to adapt her voice to the tone someone would use on a older member of family.
Turning to the guards she adds "Ignore him, it's been a long trip."

He has silver-white hair, it may just pass, and they may yet have hearts kind enough to let it pass if they think he has something to live for.

Eldred says no more, smiling kindly to the young lady with the white hair. Still, he gives a "hmph" as though the fact that he isn't bleeding makes him the winner of the argument.

Those guns could hurt one of the others, Eldred thinks to himself. I'd better shut up or I might not be the only one who doesn't make it.

"My name's Eldred," he whispers. "But I kind of like Gramps. Never had any grandkids to speak of, you know." It's hard to tell whether he's joking or not.

In the last days, on your floor, the number of guards and Stormtroopers varied, but never were less than 12 Stormtroopers and 10 guards and no more than 20 ST and 15 Guards.

The actual numbers now are 15 Stormtroopers and 12 guards

Key-lara revises her decision. Less than good is a tad hopeful, any fight would end badly for team Saylence, good job it was avoided.

"Key-lara" she whispers as a quick introduction. Then, she asks, again in a hushed voice <"Do you understand?"> in Echani.

Even whilst talking to Eldred, she tries to get a rough estimation of the amount of slaves in the room.
Just because they're in the same boat as me, doesn't mean they're my ally. she reminds herself. But then again, help comes from unlikely sources.

By your best guess the number should be more than 300 diverse sentients cramped in the deck

Eldred shakes his head for a moment before answering quietly. "I'm sorry, dear. I don't understand your language."

Out of Character: i'd like to make a couple of checks. a Perception check (Total: 17) to see if Eldred notices anything out of the ordinary, paying particular attention to the young and weepy Bothan.

a knowledge (bureaucracy) check (Total: 17) to see what i know about who's who in the Correctional Facility on Garrison Moon.

a knowledge (galactic lore) check (Total: 21) to see what i know about the Kessel system and, finally,

a knowledge (social sciences) check (Total: 16) related to the field of criminology to see what i can expect from incarceration.

each knowledge check is a swift action and the Perception is a standard, i guess.

From what you remember from your time as a senator of Tandor, in the galactic senate, kessel system has only one habitable planet – Kessel, and it’s moon – Garrison moon.

Kessel is a barren, kidney shaped asteroid-planet that is the only source in the Galaxy for Glitterstim spice, which is both a powerful narcotic, and also a needed ingredient in most medical supplies.

Since millennia ago, the planet is a big prison complex, but, from what you heard, in the late years, the conditions there are becoming worse. The capital city is Kessendra.

The surface is barren and has huge factories where the oxygen is produced and pumped to the mines, as the low gravity, and gravitational attraction from the Maw, doesn’t allow the atmosphere to exist for long.

From a trade dispute, you arbited, you also know the spice comes from the webs of the spice spiders, that have to be mined in the total darkness.

In the republic era, the prison complex was ruled by the colicoids, but now you seem to remember some new, imperial tight officer, named Dewt Kluskine, or something like that, was given a grand title like Imperial warden commander, and now ruled there in the name of the emperor.

Real information about what happens to prisoners in Kessel is short, and lacks details. But smugglers, that made their gain there, appear to talk in banthas being better treated than the sentients there. Slave work on the mines, lack of food, and even oxygen seems to be the norm.

The Bothan girl has a black lush furr, and seams very young. She is still crying softly. Beside her other prisoners seem to be trying to comfort her

The guard that was caressing the baton, as he sees the young, exotic girl, with her white hair, shifts his attention... "I'll keep an eye on you girl. When we get to Kessel we can get some "Quality Time" for us... only the two of us" extending an hand to slightly touch her body.

As he reaches towards her, she steps back.
    "I wouldn't." She warns.

Shouldn't have drawn attention to myself... stupid!

"Feisty this one, ah?" tells the guard to the others...
With a quick step, he backhands the already debil girl to the ground.

"Bitch. You are nothing. You're mine... Can't wait." says the guard as he walks away "I'll keep an eye on you, Whity"

Eldred stands from his sitting position with burning passion in his eyes. "You will not touch her again!" he says forcefully. "I am a former member of the Galactic Senate and I know our rights. You may think you've got us far away from prying eyes, but I have powerful friends. You're going to regret this."

i'd like to have Eldred attempt a Persuasion check to intimidate the assailant. just to get him to back down; i know he isn't afraid of my character. i'm spending a Force Point.

Persuasion to Intimidate (-2 Condition + Force Point) (1d20+6=25, 1d6=6) for a total of 31.

i just want him to back down so that we can avoid anymore violence.

Kabur sits against the wall quietly watching everything unfolding.

    Taking Ten on Perception: 17

    Tahiri Veila: "That's funny."
Corran Horn: "Funny ha ha or funny we're about to die?"

The guard visibly cringes with the effort to stop his aggression streak. "Galactic senator... friends..." you hear in an almost imperceptible tone, as he is arguing with himself...

Then louder “I’ll keep an eye on you too, old croak…” pointing menacingly with the baton that is crackling with energy, “You know, in Kessel old men die…”

    (To Kabur)
In the long trip here you've seen many prisoners standing up to the guards that suffered grievous beatings in return. This time the old human, and his alleged granddaughter escaped it…
All the prisoners and guards are looking at the scene, but as the guard abandons the place, all starts to return to normality.

GM note:As you know, the result of an intimidation is a step in the direction of hostillity. You've made your first enemy on the way to Kessel.
