    Rather than try to restart my RoaR campaign, I am starting a completely new game.

    Characters:

    Growv - Darth_Thespius
    Orwydd Triss - magnitude77
    Jedi Padawan Rann Tesrin - Helfdan
    Captain Jak Hailan - Lambach
    (open)

    Start Date:

    22 Jan 2010

    Special Rules:

    28 point buy
    Begin at level 4
    One bonus (free) skill.
    24,000 credits (plus whatever you get if you have the Wealth talent)
    My House Rules (if you don't have a copy, get one).
    Material from any Saga Edition book, so long as it is era-appropriate. Since the era will be the New Sith Wars, specifically the year 1375 BBY, that rules out a lot of things.
    No material from Saga-Edition.com will be used unless it is already mentioned in my House Rules.
    Characters cannot begin with a positive DSS, nor any DS Force powers.

    Birthday Cards:
    * The Force is With You: Gain your Destiny Bonus for 24-hours
    * Insight: Maximum damage on one roll
    * You Have It In You: Automatic success on one skill check
    * The Art of War: Automatic critical hit against one foe
    * Hidden Reserve: Take an extra Second Wind once
    * Inner Harmony: Ignore any adverse Condition for the duration of the scene
    * Nine Lives: Avoid death once (as per use of a Force Point)
    * Fate: Evade one successful enemy attack (as per use of a Destiny Point)

    @Protheuz, you didn't state your preferences.

    I forgot to mention that characters will begin at level 4. Material from any Saga book is acceptable, as well as my House Rules, but items will be restricted to what is appropriate for the era that is chosen. No material from Saga-Edition.com will be used unless it is already mentioned in my House Rules. Characters cannot begin with a positive DSS, nor any DS Force powers.

    I'm probably forgetting a bunch of other things that I should say. So please feel free to ask questions. I've been awake all night mucking with my computers, and it's kriffing freezing down here in what should be warm Florida, so I'm not exactly clear-minded at the moment. (Less so than usual, anyway.)

    I'm definitely in. I think all four sound like great ideas and would be happy to play in any of those settings. Here's my order of preference (keeping in mind that I would enthusiastically play in any of the four):

    1) 44 BBY
    2) 1900 BBY
    3) 4 ABY

    (BTW, Thespius, I noticed that you never got your 1,000 XP for being elected as a Moderator, so I fixed that.)

    Rather than try to restart my RoaR campaign (for which I still need to recover my files) I am considering starting a completely new game.

    So RoaR is dead?

    Ouch, that game was running before I signed on-to the boards, and everything I had heard indicated it to be the fastest paced game running.

    Unfortunately (for me), I won't be signing up. I'm already committed to 5 PbP campaigns, and don't want to over-stretch myself. Although, I'll be watching intently...

    @Amducious: I actually managed this morning to recover the most critical of my RoaR files after I started this thread. However, I'm not so sure that I want to keep running that one, for reasons that have nothing to do with the players or their characters. I made some decisions early on in that game that were coming back to bite me hard in the ass when I began work on episode III of that campaign. I could continue, and it would be fun for the players, but not so much for me because of how I am forced to deviate from the plot outline I'd originally developed in order to fix the mistakes I made (mistakes I made before the game even began). I don't like to compromise; I'm a perfectionist. The original plot was too inflexible (and that's not even its most serious flaw, but its the one that hurts the players the worst).

    Do not worry. The pacing of my new game will be similar to RoaR's. That's a function of my GMing style more so than the design of the campaign. I like to keep things moving.

    @Thespius: 28 point buy, ((level) x (level-1) x 2000) credits. (That's 24,000 for the math challenged.)

    Mag and Thespius confirmed as players.

    I may decide to run more than one campaign. I just had an idea for what I think may be a really cool Infinity:

    Mace Windu kills Palpatine, then Anakin Skywalker kills Windu. Skywalker initiates Order 66 and assumes command of the clone army. He and the 501st kill everyone in the Jedi Temple. General Grievous kills Kenobi on Utapau before Order 66 and escapes to continue leading the CIS. Yoda kills Skywalker in the Senate building. Bail Organa becomes Supreme Chancellor. The CIS destroys Tipoca City and clone production ceases. Coruscant eventually falls to the ever-increasing might of the CIS droid armies, as does Alderaan and many other worlds, and a much-reduced Jedi Order led by Yoda scatters as General Grievous mercilessly hunts them down. The Republic collapses and Organa likewise flees to the Rim with the remnants of the Republic navy.

    The Clone Wars continue with the Alliance to Restore the Republic vs. the Empire (formerly known as the CIS, before Grievous takes Coruscant and declares himself Emperor). What would normally be 19 BBY in a non-Infinity becomes year zero of the Imperial Era (0 IE). The campaign would start a year or two later.

    What do you guys think?

    That's... incredibly Infinities... Most Infinities stories change one event. You've changed just about everything from episode III. What's become of Padme? Without going to Mustafar she wouldn't of been force choked to death.

    Anyways, it's intriguing to say the least.

    You haven't said whether you'd play in such a campaign.

    Yeah, I'd play in it, but I'd have to come up with a different character concept than the one I had built (I'd want to play a traditional Jedi as opposed to the one I had in mind). I could have one together soon though.

    Yes! I'll probably have to make a rewrite of Kit Aldrete's bio and build, but I've been missing playing in more than one game here. I'm definitely in.

    As for era, here are my top three:

    1. 200 ABY, 'cuz the Legacy setting is growing on me and SacredPhoenix's game never went anywhere.
    2. 4 ABY, despite the new rendition of RotS being a bit extreme.
    3. 44 BBY, for no particular reason.

    Okay, for the new campaign, era TBA, the players thus far are:

    Thespius
    Mag
    Jaden
    Protheuz (pending an open slot)
    The proposed 4 ABY game is an Infinity also (as was RoaR). Though the changes are fewer and more subtle than those of the CW/GCW Infinity.

    For the Clone Wars / Galactic Civil War Infinity, there is:
    Thespius
    Mag
    Jaden didn't say anything about the CW/GCW Infinity.

    In case it isn't clear, I am going to run TWO campaigns.

    Absolutely. With far more reason for characters to already be a bit "seasoned".

    The Republic (rebel) fleet does contain some clones. Jedi refuse to work with them. On the few ships that have both Jedi and clones aboard, there is open antagonism between them. The clones hold no antipathy for the surviving Jedi (they were just following orders). The Jedi, understandably, do not trust the clones.

    Oh, and nobles with the Wealth talent can get anywhere from 5,000 to 50,000 more credits, depending on their number of levels in the noble class and when they took the talent.

    I'll have a character up tomorrow. I'm going with a Kel Dor Jedi, based in concept around the lost brother of Dro Murl (my character that was in Jaden's NoD). He'll be a Jedi Guardian type.
