On Coruscant, a trio of nearly-exhausted Jedi Padawans run towards a landing platform attached to one of the city's gleaming towers, fleeing from a droideka sending a hail of blaster bolts their way. Not far behind the fearsome war machine, two squads of super battle droids move to cut off other avenues of escape. On the platform sits a dented, rust-streaked, grime-encrusted, carbon-scored YT-1300 light freighter with flaking paint in the few areas where any remains. A sharply-dressed young human man directs a couple of ASP droids in the loading of unmarked cargo containers heaped nearby. The droideka's errant shots blast the mechanical stevedores into scrap metal, putting an end to their labors.

    flashback

Within one of the great fighter bays aboard the Republic flagship Resolute, General Rahm Kota speaks to a young man as technicians and droids bustle about, intent on their work and paying no attention to the two humans. The object of the Jedi Master's focus is Anjo Kalomi, a now-masterless Padawan who has recently joined the Rebellion. "Anjo, I need you to go to Coruscant and contact Master Piell. You must warn him that it is too dangerous for him to remain there. My sources tell me that the Inquisitorius has become aware of his presence, and that of the other Jedi. It is only a matter of time before they close in. Leave now. Make haste. And may the Force be with you."

Deep in the dim and dirty bowels of Coruscant, two Imperial Inquistors, garbed in black robes and wielding red sabers, along with a quartet of droideka, several MagnaGuards, and an entire company of factory-fresh bluish-grey super battle droids descend upon a secret gathering of Jedi survivors of the Purge. Unsurprised, and moving with supernatural haste, Jedi Knights Sha Koon, Jax Pavan, and Laranth Tarak flee in separate directions drawing immediate pursuit by most of the droids. Padawans Kit Aldrete, Ky Feng, and Anjo Kalomi together head off in yet another direction, as Master Piell gallantly remains behind to cover the young ones' escape. The short, battle-scarred Jedi warrior fearlessly engages the dark servants of the Empire in saber combat. Unfortunately for the apprentices, one of the droideka and a couple of squads of battle droids notice them and give chase.

    cut to the present

The Jedi have been running for their lives for quite some time, hence the exhaustion that will soon begin to set in. They have gone from the undercity up through a tower, in a running defensive fight against the faster droideka, unable to close with and engage it without being swamped by both its firepower and that of the eight B2 droids (two squads, using the squad rules) following behind. The droideka easily keeps pace with the Jedi, periodically planting itself and laying down withering fire until the B2s catch up (wash, rinse, repeat). The Jedi quickly realized that whomever/whatever is remotely controlling it knows enough about Jedi to keep at least twenty meters from them, neutralizing their Force powers. A DC15 Knowledge (tactics) check by Anjo reveals that the droids are using standard military leapfrog tactics. A DC15 Knowledge (tactics) check by Anjo reveals that once the fugitives reach open spaces they will be subject to aerial pursuit and attack, which will quickly be the end of them. (Hence why you've been fleeing inside a tower, though you're about to run out of room to run.)

Yes, that's Fein's ship, and yes, that's him standing outside and now shocked to discover that he's caught downrange in a free-fire zone in what should have been a safe, upscale location. Making matters worse, the valuable cargo strewn about belongs to Ziro the Hutt, which the smuggler was hired to take to Nar Shaddaa. NE-00 is inside the ship, becoming acquainted with the vessel and Fein's astromech. NE-00 works for Ziro, and is tasked with making sure that the cargo arrives at its destination, intact.

The two map images I stitched together don't quite line up, no matter what I do to rescale the layers. Sorry, it's the best I can do.

The dorsal cannon on a YT-1300 will not depress low enough to target the enemies. NE-00 is unaware that the Death Wish is equipped with a docking gun. Fein's astromech has no reason (or authorization) to divulge that fact. Kaycee, while helpful to her master and aware of the modification, is likewise prohibited from saying anything. Unlike her astromech counterpart, she lacks the heuristic brain needed to allow her to go beyond her programming.

The good news is that the freighter's engines are warmed up. That will save some time in getting the ship off the 'ground'. Both the cargo loading ramp and the boarding ramp of the freighter are down, as shown on the map. The black-colored 'A's on the map are the two recently-demolished ASP droids. RIP.

The turbolifts are all locked down. You've run up 63 flights of stairs to this level (level 64). Hence the incipient exhaustion. Watching a droideka bounce up stairs has been both amazing and distressing.

Padawan Ky is first to react to the new situation ...

Ky Feng runs towards the ship, knowing it's their only chance of survival, and turns to the ships the man standing outside the ship. He assumes him to be the captain, and addresses him as such, "I'm so sorry to drag you into this, but there is no time," he says.

Double Move Action: Move 11 squares south (accounting for the ASP droids being difficult terrain. Should end up just inside the loading ramp.
    Free Action: Speak.

Would my lightsabers be drawn? Have the other two Padawans seen my red blade? If my lightsabers are drawn, but unactivated I will spend a swift action to activate the blue one.

Your sabers are already drawn. Without them you'd already be dead, not having a means to deflect incoming fire. The steps on the map are difficult terrain, and the crates just inside the cargo loading ramp block normal movement, though you can jump/climb over them as a separate move action (next round). If you wish to change your move and head towards the boarding ramp instead please let me know. Either path leads into the ship, just not as quickly as you may have thought.

I will end my move atop the ASP labor droids. Also Ky would have drawn and activated the blue saber only, not wishing to spring the surprise of a red blade upon two Jedi Padawans he doesn't know. I can deflect just as well with one lightsaber. If this comes down to an actual fight I'll spend the move action to draw the other.

The destroyer droid fires a flurry of bolts at each of the closest two targets (Anjo and Kit). The bolts directed at Kit miss, blowing chunks off of the intervening statue, with a couple pinging off the hull armor of the freighter. The bolts directed at Anjo, who has no cover, ...
Anjo must make a Deflect roll against DC 20. If he fails he takes 28 damage.

Kit reaches for the Force, trying to move herself faster. She almost loses control as pieces of a statue fly past her face, but manages to give herself a small burst of speed. She bolts down the steps and through the doors, only skidding to a halt when she sees a younger man who appears to be the pilot.

"We need to commandeer this ship in the name of-" She stops herself from mentioning the Republic as she would have when commandeering a civilian ship for the refugee effort, and shakes her head.

"Never mind; if we don't blast off now they'll kill you too." Not waiting for a response, Kit pushes past him and makes a run for the boarding ramp.

Move Action: Move to 2 spaces north and 1 west of Cayntair.

Kit makes it further than specified. You didn't properly factor in that I use 2-1-2-1 diagonal movement.

Anjo clears his mind and feels the Force flow through him as his dashes away from the battle droids at superhuman speed. He shoots the captain an apologetic look before running up the freighter's boarding ramp, switching off his lightsaber, and making his way to the cockpit. Finding two droids there, he pleads, "Droids, this is an emergency. We need to take off, or you'll be destroyed too."

I placed Anjo next to your desired location because that spot was already occupied by Kaycee, which I had forgotten to place on the maps I posted previously.

Fein's astromech notes that the ship is being hijacked by strangers under fire by Imperial forces, one of which is a wanted fugitive (the droid notices the Padawan braid) with an illegal weapon (the lightsaber). R2 first raises the cargo loading ramp, cutting off that avenue of invasion for Ky, and also protecting the vulnerable interior. The droid then transmits a compressed-burst distress call to the local police net, noting the ship's location and the visual likeness of the three Jedi, and that one of the Jedi is already aboard.

R2 informs NE-00 in high-speed binary (far too fast for Anjo to understand), "Firing on Imperial personnel carries a minimum mandatory prison sentence of 20 years in the spice mines on Kessel, and a maximum penalty of a death sentence, for my master. As well as Imperial impound of all his property. My core programming does not permit illegal actions, or endangering my master, without an explicit command from my master." He then adds in slower binary directed at Anjo, "You are an intruder and an Imperial fugitive. You must leave this vessel at once. I have notified local law enforcement."

ASP-EN moves further into the cargo hold, out of the line of fire should anyone lower the ramp.
    Fein is next.

Fein glances in pure disbelief at everything that's going on.A simple job! Now this! Kit's warning snaps him out of it and he begins to reply "Hey wai-!" as she, and another stranger, rushes past him. With one last glance at the lost cargo he rushes for the boarding ramp; and the fastest way to the pilots controls.

I forgot in my last post to mention that R2 also locked the ship's controls, to prevent NE-00 from usurping them. The transmission to the Imps was issued via his scomp link, and thus NE-00 is unaware of the contents or destination of the signal, only that a transmission was made (an indicator light on the console blinks for a moment). Likewise, NE-00 is unaware that the controls have been locked out. NE-00 would only discover this if he jacked-in with his own scomp link.

Please note that Fein's droids are all stock models (mods notwithstanding). An organic issuing an order to a droid that is not 4th-degree (or has the sapience trait) to harm another organic will not be obeyed as it violates core programming. Unless that droid is owned by the organic and the order is to defend the owner from harm, and even then there are strict limits. You should brush up on your Asimov's Three Laws. Orders to break the law also go against core programming (by endangering one's master). So such orders can be disregarded, unless the master is the one giving the order. A master's orders cannot be disobeyed, even if it leads to harm to the master. (This is the only exception to Asimov's Laws; droids in Star Wars don't follow Asimov's Laws precisely, but it's generally similar.)

BTW, R2-WY is white and bright red (American fire engine red).

Kaycee laments, "Oh my! We're doomed!" The silver droid heads out of the cockpit to go find Master Fein and try to help him. Spotting her master as she walks down the boarding ramp, she exclaims, "Master Fein, there's a Jedi aboard! And Ziro's droid wants to fire on the Imperials!"

Both squads of super battle droids enter the main (north-south) hall and open fire on Ky. One squad sends their bolts spattering against the plascrete at Ky's feet and pinging harmlessly off of the ship's armor, though uncomfortably close to the Jedi. The other squad's bolts are better aimed ...
Ky must make a Deflect roll against a DC of 22. Failure results in taking 15 damage.

Ky raises his brother's lightsaber, batting the blaster bolt harmlessly away, Thank you Dro, he thinks to himself.

Forgot to mention this in personality, but Ky has a tendency to refer to his brother's lightsaber as Dro.
