Joruus C’baoth

Joruus C’baoth was an insane Dark Jedi who played a pivotal role in the Thrawn campaign. A clone of the Jedi Master Jorus C’baoth, he was created by Palpatine, and used as the Guardian of the Imperial storehouse at Mount Tantiss on Wayland. In 9 ABY, Grand Admiral Thrawn discovered the existence of the storehouse and traveled to Wayland. He succeeded in recruiting the Dark Jedi to join him in his campaign to destroy the New Republic, making good use of his battle meditation powers. C’baoth also attempted to lure Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa Solo to the dark side of the Force as part of a plan to seize the Empire for himself. However, as his plan entered its final stages, Thrawn had C’baoth imprisoned in Mount Tantiss, having finally realized the threat the insane Jedi posed to the Empire. After taking control of the Imperials left to guard him on Wayland, he was confronted by New Republic forces including Skywalker and the Force-sensitive smuggler Mara Jade. The two dueled with C’baoth, and Jade managed to kill the mad clone. ~Wookieepedia

Encounters: C’baoth is a nice change from the run of the mill Dark Jedi seen after the fall of the Emperor. He doesn’t want control of the galaxy, but wants to control the minds of his servants on a very deep level. He also wants to restore the Jedi, believing them to be superior to non-Force-sensitives, and will try hard to corrupt young Jedi heroes. If a group of heroes encounter him, he is likely to pose as a kind yet stern Jedi master to win them over, but if they don’t fall for his tricks, they’ll have to contend with his array of Force powers. Towards the end of his life, C’baoth can be found away from Wayland, and he also keeps a clone of Luke Skywalker with him as a sort of errand boy, using his Link talent to lend his power to the clone.

Captain Jarias Avery

Captain Jarias Avery, born Jarias Lane, would spend most of his life in the shadow of his twin brother. When the two boys were born to a wealthy family on Corellia, their presence was felt almost immediately by members of the Jedi Order. Though both boys were examined, only Daska would be inducted into the Order. Despite graduating in the top of his class and becoming a championship level fencer, Jarias would continue to struggle to gain the attention and approval of his family.

Jarias eventually inherits the family business, though he is more interested in maintaining his playboy lifestyle and soon drives the business into financial trouble, allowing it to be absorbed by the Corellian Engineering Corporation. Jarias continues to manage a small research division after the merger, becoming infamous for test piloting his own highly experimental and dangerous ship designs. Though some of his designs would eventually contribute to the continued success of CEC’s freighter lines, many of his designs are dustbinned for not meeting the company’s high standards of reliability and safety. After a number of unprofitable seasons, Jarias’ research department was shut down permanently.

During the Clone Wars, Jarias would enlist with the Republic for the opening months of the war, hoping to prove himself to be as much a hero as his brother. After the death of his brother, however, Jarias questioned his loyalties and he would eventually become a privateer in the Separatist fleet under the assumed identity of Jarias Avery. He continued to fight the Empire long after the majority of the Separatist movement had collapsed, staging daring hit and run strikes deep into the Core Worlds.

Eventually, Jarias would contribute the firepower of the Vreni Blade and his well trained and disciplined crew to the growing Rebel Movement.

Ei-Ryn Lane

Ei-Ryn had an unremarkable childhood. Though she possessed some affinity for the Force, simple fate ensured that she was not discovered by the Jedi Order until long after her window of opportunity had closed. As she grew older, she dreamed of a more remarkable life, leaving her backwater home behind her and vowing to not return until she had made something of herself.

She found notoriety first as a shockboxer and later as a private guard and pilot for a wealthy merchant prince. Her life would forever be changed, however, when the unexpected assassination of her employer would bring her face to face with a young Jedi Knight by the name of Daska Lane. The two would work together to uncover the mystery of the mysterious assassin, leading them on a chase that would lead them into the very bowels of the Galactic Senate.

It was this mystery that shook the foundations of Daska Lane’s faith in the Republic and the Jedi’s allegiance to the Senate and its Chancellor. Daska and Ei-Ryn left Coruscant and joined the Wardens of the Sky. While Daska would continue to uphold the code of the Jedi Order he refused the call to return to Coruscant at the outset of the Clone Wars and would not serve as a General in the Grand Army. He would marry Ei-Ryn several months later, formally severing his ties with the Jedi Order forever. The two returned to her homeworld, where her new husband was warmly welcomed. Their marital bliss was short lived, however, as her husband’s refusal to return to Coruscant for questioning eventually put him at odds with the Jedi and would result in his death at the hands of Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Ei-Ryn would hold herself responsible for the death of her husband, and eventually joined the Clone Wars as a mercenary for the Confederacy specializing in the elimination of Jedi targets. After the Clone Wars, she would continue to fight against the newly formed Empire, and eventually joined a fledgling Rebel organization that would allow her to operate more effectively against her enemies.

T-series Tactical Droid

A tactical droid was a model of supervisor droid serving the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. This model was more intelligent than standard battle droids and was deployed to command Separatist troops. Their bodies were approximately the same size as a B2 super battle droid. Tactical droids were observed to be impatient and demanding. They seemed to feel superior to other droids, as evidenced by their poor treatment and insults to battle droids, such as during the battles of Quell and Ryloth. When pushed, tactical droids would even order the destruction of their own allies if they got in the way, as seen at the Battle of Quell. Some of these droids were also in charge of entire fleets and land forces.

Tactical droids were not as homogeneous as other battle droid models. The personalities and voices between units had slight variation, making no two units identical. Tactical droids also bore colorful paint schemes, each of which is said to be unique as well. Whether the particular paints schemes bear any significance such as rank, type designation, or unit affiliation (as with other battle droids or clone troopers) is unknown.

Cad Bane

Cad Bane was a Duros male born on the planet Duro during the last decades of the Galactic Republic. He became a bounty hunter, earning a reputation as a ruthless mercenary who worked solely for the reward of his missions. Bane worked for the highest bidder, caring little who was employing him or what faction they belonged to as long as the credits kept flowing; he had no qualms with turning on his original employer if his quarry offered him a better fee.

By the time Jango Fett, the bounty hunter considered to be the galaxy’s best, perished in 22 BBY, Bane was something of a veteran in his line of work. With Fett out of the picture, he was also among the galaxy’s most notorious bounty hunter, thought to be cruel and fearsome. He had enemies, though, and a considerable price was on Bane’s head.

Qui-Gon Jinn

Qui-Gon Jinn was a revered, yet maverick and unconventional Jedi Master, Padawan to Count Dooku, and mentor to Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon often placed himself in conflict with the Jedi Council. He was deeply attuned to the Living Force, which contributed to his frequent taking side trips to help seemingly “pathetic life-forms.” Despite his opposition to the council, he was regarded by many Jedi as sharp-witted and for possessing great wisdom.
Qui-Gon served the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order his entire life, participating in actions against the Nebula Front and most famously during the Invasion of Naboo. It was Qui-Gon who discovered Anakin Skywalker, on Tatooine during this crisis and was largely responsible for championing his training. Even after his death at the hands of Darth Maul he played a vital role in the legacy of the Jedi Order, by learning and instructing Yoda & Obi-Wan Kenobi to become one with the force.
