Sand Worm

Monday, August 4th, 2008

Designed by ZCalibur.

The Sand Worms of Klydar IV are “pure terror incarnate”, according to the only Imperial Stormtrooper survivor of the Galactic Empire’s invasion of Klydar IV. Utterly massive and nigh unstoppable, they burrow through the endless sands of Klydar IV seeking sand tigers, raptostrichs, dewbacks, dune banthas, womp rat packs, and even smaller Sand Worms to devour.

Sand Worms are a unique species that they do not need to drink water to survive. They instead rely on the bodily fluids of the creatures they devour as well as their meat in order to survive. The Klydarians have learned to tame Sand Worms enough to ride them into battle (which many an offworlder invasion force has learned to fear due to the Sand Worm’s near indestructibility).

Kouhun

Saturday, July 12th, 2008

Converted by Karsil Draken. Editted by Tao.
ALTERNATE! Official Stats now available in Threats of the Galaxy (pg. 113)

kouhun

Kouhuns were vermiform arthropods with segmented bodies, roughly thirty centimeters long, from the jungle world of Induomodo. Small, silent, and fast, kouhuns were capable of delivering a fatal and quick-acting neurotoxin through their bite, as well as a nonfatal but nonetheless painful sting from their tails. Kouhuns were white in color, though they also existed in reddish-brown and black varieties.

Because of their many advantages for covert killings, kouhuns were a favored weapon of assassins. They would be starved so that they would attack immediately upon being released, then infiltrated into a victim’s home via a droid, package, or even by slipping through tight spaces such as open windows or ducts. Kouhun nests, the result of escaped kouhuns from assassins, could be found on a number of worlds from the Outer Rim Territories to the Core, including Coruscant.

If the target has been injected with the lethal toxin, they also suffer 2d6 damage. The poison attacks each round until cured with a successful DC 15 Treat Injury check.

Having a completely blank mind, it has a +10 bonus against Mind Affecting effects.

The kouhun used by Zam Wessel in the attempted assassination of Senator Amidala lacked the nonlethal stinger possessed by many kouhun.
