Grand Admiral Thrawn

Mitth’raw’nuruodo, better known by his core name Thrawn, was a male Chiss who served in the Imperial Navy and became the only non-Human Grand Admiral. He was regarded as the best military strategist in the navy, and despite the Empire’s strict non-Human policies, rose to a position of power.
Thrawn served as an officer in the Chiss Expansionary Defense Force for many years, where he demonstrated his brilliance. However, many of Thrawn’s ways were contrary to that of Chiss society at large, and so he was exiled. Thrawn was discovered by Imperial Navy officer Voss Parck, who brought him to Palpatine. Palpatine had already learned of Thrawn in 27 BBY, and knew his command skills.
Over time, Thrawn climbed the ladder, and in 2 ABY became the 13th Grand Admiral in the Imperial Navy. Shortly after, Thrawn left on a secret mission to pacify the Unknown Regions. He remained there for several years after the Battle of Endor, which saw the death of Palpatine. The Empire was on the verge of collapse by 9 ABY, when Thrawn returned. He had a plan to crush the New Republic. Though the Grand Admiral was able to deal the New Republic several mighty blows, he was unable to destroy the fledgling government. Thrawn perished in the Battle of Bilbringi at the hand of Rukh, his Noghri bodyguard. who had recently learned that the Empire had betrayed his people. Though Thrawn was dead, he would be remembered as the genius tactician and Imperial leader who nearly brought down the New Republic.

Aran Cho
Saturday, March 22nd, 2008Aran Cho was a captain in the Imperial Navy. Born into a family of strict naval officers, he thus received his officers commission at a relatively young age. He quickly gained rank, and was reputed to be a brilliant strategist and motivator. But as his crew could attest, he was no fair task master, personally administering corporal punishments, even for the most minor of offenses. He seems to enjoy this and often chose one or two soldiers to pick on, and in his words “teach them the virtues of service.” Despite this he has managed to ingrain deep feelings of loyalty within his troops. By being fair to the many, his crew often turn a blind eye to the unlucky few.

Maarek Stele
Saturday, March 22nd, 2008Maarek Stele was a pilot of the Imperial Starfighter Corps and one of the Emperor’s Hands. A native of Kuan, he enlisted in the Imperial Navy after the Galactic Empire rescued him from Bordali agents near the end of the Taroonian Civil War. Although he initially served as a mechanic, Stele was offered the opportunity to train as a TIE pilot after saving the life of Admiral Mordon. Over the course of several campaigns, Stele fought against the forces of the Alliance to Restore the Republic, as well as those of the treacherous Imperial Admirals Harkov and Demetrius Zaarin. Stele quickly became an ace pilot and went on to be considered one of the greatest pilots in the Empire. He was also well known as a test pilot, being one of the first to fly the TIE Avenger, TIE Defender and the Missile Boat into combat.
Stele’s Force-sensitivity attracted the attention of the Secret Order of the Emperor and, after helping to rescue Emperor Palpatine from Zaarin, Stele was trained to use the Force and became one of the Emperor’s Hands. He was also rewarded with the title-rank Tan. Despite Stele’s position he came to question his life in the Empire, particularly after the death of the Emperor at the Battle of Endor. It was only after meeting Baron Soontir Fel that Stele felt renewed allegiance to the Empire and joined Fel in the 181st Imperial Fighter Group. Stele continued to serve the Imperial Remnant as a pilot into the Yuuzhan Vong War.
