Arakyd Industries ACP Heavy Repeater

Sunday, December 14th, 2008

Designed by Shadowrunner.

Large, Heavy

The ACP Heavy repeater was better suited to use as a vehicle mount or bunker emplacement.  It would often be used by elite Trandoshan slavers who were strong enough to wield its massive weight and absorb its tremendous recoil.

If a character attempts to use it as a mobile weapon, they must possess 15 Str or suffer an additional -5 penalty to their attack rolls.  The ACP Repeater cuts through shields very easily; removing 5 points of shield strength on a successful attack.  However while devastating against shields, the ACP’s charged particle ammunition is less effective against droids; droids gain 5 points of damage reduction against such weapons.  The heavy repeater uses a 200 round ammo belt and can be reloaded as a full round action, it also holds a wicked looking spike on the barrel that functions as a bayonet.

Electro-Magnetic Pulse Launcher

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

Part of the CLONE WARS LAUNCH SPECTACULAR.

Large, Heavy Weapon

The Clone Trooper EMP (Electro-Magnetic Pulse) Launcher was a devastating weapon when used against the droid forces of the Confederacy of Independent Systems as they were able to both deactivate doids by shorting out electronics and destroy their interior circuitry with powerful EMP waves. The EMP launcher was, as its name implies, an ion weapon intended to deal massive amounts of damage against enemy CIS droids. Upon impact with a solid object, the projectile would detonate, dealing ion damage to surrounding enemies.

Concussion Rifle

Concussion Rifle

Large, Heavy Weapon

Concussion Rifles were a heavy field weapon used in medium to long distance engagements that fired a compressed capsule of ionized air towards a target, creating a powerful shock wave upon contact. The weapon’s inability to be blocked by a lightsaber, and the splash damage, made this one of the more effective weapons against Jedi.

Reciprocating Quad Blaster

Friday, August 15th, 2008

Part of the CLONE WARS LAUNCH SPECTACULAR

Cip-Quad

Huge, Heavy Weapon

The reciprocating quad blaster, often shortened to “Cip-Quad”, was an experimental weapon developed during the Clone Wars by Merr-Sonn Munitions. Clone troopers using the weapon were often outfitted with specialized armor that included head-up displays in the helmet and links to the harness that allowed them to make the best use out of the weapon. The weapon was best used against the slower vehicles of the Separatist army, such as the Corporate Alliance NR-N99 tank droid and the Trade Federation Armored Assault Tank, as infantry was often able to outmaneuver the weapon. Despite positive feedback, the expense of the Reciprocating Quad Blaster combined with its inherent design limitations ensured that it never saw widespread use after the Clone Wars.

Z-6 Rotary Blaster

Thursday, August 7th, 2008

Part of the CLONE WARS LAUNCH SPECTACULAR.

Clone with Z-6

Large, Inaccurate, Heavy Weapon
Working around a basic design flaw inherent in many typical blaster weapons, the Z-6 incorporated six barrels in a rapid rotation wrapped around a coolant-lined core. The galven circuitry used in the blaster meant that the Z-6 had a high cooling rate, allowing for a tremendous rate of fire (roughly 166 rounds per second). Despite its impressive firepower, the weapon had several notable limitations, specifically the high rate of ammunition consumption, its weight, and recoil. Efforts by Merr-Sonn to counteract these limitations were not completely successful, and tended to make the weapon that much more difficult to use.
