Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

Designed by ShadoWarrior

The second line of defense platforms, the Bavos-II was an improvement over its predecessor the Bavos-I. At 2,500 meters in length they were armed with 100 Turreted Medium Turbolaser Cannons, 100 Anti-starfighter turbolasers, and 3 Turreted Concussion Missile Launcher Banks.

It also possessed a hangar bay capable of launching up to six squadrons of TIE fighters and a squadron and a half of TIE bombers. It possessed more cargo space then the Bavos-I making it much more self-sufficient then its predecessor.

Golan III Space Defense NovaGun

Sunday, December 7th, 2008

Designed by ShadoWarrior

Built as a more powerful successor to the dangerous Golan II, the Golan III was larger and arguably better armed than an Imperial-class Star Destroyer. Just as the Golan II had stronger shields and a sturdier hull than the Golan I, the Golan III had shields at least 25% stronger than a Golan II and a similar increase in hull durability.

They were armed with 50 turbolaser batteries, 24 proton torpedo launchers, and 15 tractor beam projectors, and had a hangar capable of holding at least 12 starfighters.

History

Golan III platforms were assigned to the most valuable locations in the galaxy. One notable use of Golan III platforms was their deployment as scanner stations in the Byss Security Zone, working in concert with Imperial-class Super Star Destroyers.

They were also stationed above many other valuable worlds, such as Coruscant and Muunilinst, remaining in use through the end of the Yuuzhan Vong War and beyond.

Turbolaser Tower

Designed by Sacred Phoenix

Turbo Laser

The XX-9 heavy turbolaser was a shipboard emplacement weapon produced by Taim & Bak and was used as a surface weapon on the Empire’s dreaded Death Star. The Taim & Bak XX-9 heavy turbolaser was protected by quadanium steel plating and made a deadly weapon against capital ships.

The turbolaser was the immensely scaled up version of the blaster and laser cannon. These weapons were generally mounted on rotating turrets, which were commonly installed in banks on capital ships, space stations and orbital facilities.
