ALTERNATE! Official Stats now available in The Clone Wars Campaign Guide (pg. 164)

Fandom Comics is proud to present on Saga-Edition.com, the AT-TE, a preview of our newly posted Clone Wars Era Ground Vehicles chapter!

All-Terrain Tactical Enforcer

Designed by Rothana Heavy Engineering, and inspired by the local Artic Horny Whelmer of their homeworld, the AT-TE was originally deployed as a mining security vehicle. However, when the contract for the Clone Army was signed by RHE, it was retooled and developed for combat. The AT-TE quickly became a symbol of the Grand Army of the Republic on the ground, dominating the enemy. The AT-TE is considered to have brought walkers back into military favor, leading to a variety of designs during the Clone Wars, and the Galactic Empire’s dependence on walkers years later. The AT-TE participated in the majority of battles during the Clone Wars, most notably Geonosis, Bothawui and Teth. The Empire would continue to deploy the AT-TE on worlds such as Jabiim and Maridun, but converted most of the stockpile to act as logistics craft.

Capabilities
The AT-TE was a very capable combat platform, acting as troop transport and heavy armor support. Its anti-vehicle cannons are each controlled by one of four gunners, with the lower front cannons able to be controlled by either the two rear gunners or the pilot and commander, with a swift action required to switch control between. The external gunner controls the mass driver cannon. The mass driver cannon is sometimes replaced with a light turbolaser cannon, though this is rare. The commander will frequently use the aid another action by providing improved targeting data (versus Reflex DC 10). The AT-TE also has magnetic clamps on its feet, allowing it to make Climb checks at a +17 skill modifier. These vehicles have been known to scale even sheer surfaces (DC 30). Note that the presence of ropes or opposing walls to brace with do not reduce climb DCs for walkers.
During the time of the Empire, many of these walkers had their weapon systems and roofs removed, creating a logistics walker. For AT-TE-Cargo variants, remove all weaponry and replace it with 4 mounted E-WEB cannons, with room for only 8 passengers, and 4 tons of cargo space. Cover for the pilot remains at total, but gunners and passengers have their cover bonus reduced to +10 (+0 if attacked from above). Note that additional passengers can be added at a rate of 10 troops per ton of cargo (for a maximum of 48 troops and 0 cargo space).

Republic Artillery Gun

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

Part of the CLONE WARS LAUNCH SPECTACULAR.

Republic Artillery Gun

The Republic Artillery Gun was a repulsorlift self-propelled artillery unit used by the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars. The vehicle could be operated by one clone trooper, and had a chamber for refilling shells to the side of the lower chassis. The vehicle would float until it reached a suitable firing position and then entrench itself on the ground, using four metallic feet. Republic Artillery Guns were used during the Battle of Christophsis where they countered the CIS’s AATs and Tri Droids.
