T4-B Heavy Tank

The T4-B heavy tank was an all-purpose battle tank used by the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War.

The T4-B was armed with two fire linked laser cannons, with fire-linked concussion missile tubes placed between them, the firepower of which was devastating against infantry units. Typically, missiles were used at long range, against any target, then the tanks would close in and engage the enemy with their powerful anti-armor laser cannons.

Mobile Proton Torpedo Launcher-2a

The Mobile Proton Torpedo Launcher (MPTL-2a) was a self-propelled artillery unit used by the Rebel Alliance. It was the result of the success of the first MPTL.

This tracked vehicle could launch proton torpedoes from nine launchers at heavily armored enemy units and was one of the few powerful ground units the Alliance fielded. They were usually accompanied by spotter droids who used their sensors to aid in targeting enemy units. With the spotter droid, the range of the MPTL-2a was around 20 kilometers.

This vehicle was a direct response to the Rebel Alliance’s lack of a heavy artillery piece. The Alliance required something larger to combat the Imperial heavy machinery.

These large vehicles possessed no other weapons, making them defenseless against enemy units at close range. Also to unleash its powerful payload, an MPTL-2a had to deploy itself into a fixed position, which then opened up the top launcher platform. However, when dealt with close range combat, it would occasionally run over infantry units instead.

Hailfire Droid

The Hailfire-class droid tank was a self-aware mobile missile platform capable of destroying entire platoons of enemy soldiers. It ran on large hoop-like wheels on either side of the main armored command module, which enabled it to operate on almost any terrain at impressive speed.

The Hailfire-class was well equipped, with missile launchers fitted on each side of its head, each missile rack carrying 15 guided rocket warheads powerful enough to cause terrible damage to enemy targets. A well-placed shot with one of these missiles was enough to destroy a Republic AT-TE walker.

Each Hailfire droid also had a retractable double blaster for use against infantry and other “soft” targets.

The Hailfire-class also had many different configurations that boasted different types of weapons. Some of the configurations included heavy blaster artillery, ion cannons, or anti-personell stun weapon batteries. The wheels’ inward design gave Hailfires a wider lateral range and the ability to crush tightly grouped soldiers and small vehicles.
