Ewokslayer:
No. That sounds more like a force point per round down the drain.

How's this:

If a disguised Clawdite takes damage that exceeds its damage threshold, it must spend a Force point as a reaction to avoid reverting back to its natural form. If the Clawdite has already spent a Force point on its last turn, this option is unavailable.

Mebbe?

I believe the species is quite balanced just the way it is. I've used this species for both NPCs and PCs, and I've found out that even though they have a physical ability penalty and no other special abilities, the ability to shapeshift gets them out of trouble really fast when combined with good Stealth and Deception. The ability is also useful when performing scams or assassination plans, and a Clawdite in the party really boosts the party's capabilities.

Imho, they should be able to reroll Deception checks for Shapeshift (and only for Shapeshift) as a racial ability.

Or Skill Focus (Deception) as a conditional Bonus Feat. But I thnk that my former idea is less powerful (and therefore more balanced).

You're right, I forgot about the dead part. I was also wondering about why Anakin figured out she was a changeling. While using this NPC, one of the PCs beat the DC of the changeling's deception check, but not by 5 or more, so I only told him there was something out of place with this fella, like he's not what he looks like. I figured that if someone beats the DC by 5 or more, they'll know he/she is a changeling. I suppose this could take into account what we saw on screen.

There... probably best to only revert when dead or unconscious. I was trying to integrate a way to figure out that they were a shapeshifter before they were defeated, but you're right, it doesn't work with what we saw on the screen (which makes me wonder why she shifted back to natural form in her speeder...)

Thanks for the input.

Well, now I'm not sure about them reverting to normal form when moved down the condition track. Zam's hand was cut off by Obi-wan (which moves her a persistent step down the condition track) and she did not revert to her natural form at that point. The way I'm currently using this species traits for an NPC, he only returns to his natural form when unconscious.

Glad you like them. Good call on the stunned, fatigued, etc notes. Don't know how that slipped through.

This stats for Clawdites are great, their Shapeshifting ability is simplified and balanced.

Just as a sidenote, I believe the stunned, fatigued, and dying conditions do not exist in Saga.
